USDA expects China to adopt a regulation allowing the importation of U.S. Potatoes.

According to a USDA news release, China's agricultural officials and USDA officials are reviewing the process that would allow the importation of potatoes from Alaska, Washington and Oregon to China.

Chinese officials are open to importing seed potatoes from Alaska and tablestock potatoes from Alaska, Washington and Oregon.

"These positive outcomes are evidence of an emerging trade relationship that we are beginning to establish between China and the United States," Michael V. Dunn, under secretary for USDA's marketing and regulatory programs, said.
