All state potato organizations are encouraged to send representatives to the Oct. 16-20 24th annual North American Plant Protection Organization meeting to be held in San Diego, CA.

During the National Potato Council's summer meeting held in Brainard, MN, the NPC Board voted for action.

NAPPO, comprised of plant protection officials along with industry cooperators from Canada, Mexico, and the United States, is devoted to protecting the plant resources of the North American continent from the introduction and spread of regulated plant pests while facilitating intra- and inter-regional trade.

NAPPO participates in establishing and promoting the use of phytosanitary standards and international cooperation in plant protection with reference and involvement in the sanitary and phytosanitary agreements of the World Trade Organization and the North American Free Trade Agreement.
