International Dioxide Inc. of Kingstown, RI, has been purchased by E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company Chemical Solutions Enterprises in recent weeks.

The former subsidiary of Engelhard Corp, IDI, now a wholly owned subsidiary of DuPont, will be part of the Enterprise's Clean and Disinfect business unit.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

IDI has been heavily involved in the potato industry in recent years, helping growers/packers solve disinfection and microbial problems, especially in storage.

IDI gives DuPont an array of products, coupled with key assets that include EPA registrations and unique chlorine dioxide generation systems.
