National Potato Promotion Board Vice President of International Marketing John Toaspern visited the Mexico City food technologists show to promote U.S. potatoes.
Toaspern met with Mexican food manufacturers that are currently making products for the snack food market. Although an expanding industry, the snack food market has seen only limited products made from dehydrated potatoes.
He participated in the Board-sponsored technical seminar on dehy potatoes where participants learned how to use dehy in food and manufacturing properties of the product.
Mexican manufacturers are very interested in working with the Board to increase use of dehy in their snack food products.
