For about a year, Idaho Supreme Potatoes Inc., of Firth, ID, has been successfully using a new technology to prevent and remove septic odors from its wastewater treatment processing.

Use of Nutriox Technology has changed the attitude of neighbors of the plant and in fact brought public compliments. The company had 22 official complaints in 1998 but since using the product has had none.

Idaho Supreme contacted HydroCare of www.hydrocare.hydro.com the water-treatment division of Norsk Hydro Group, a fortune 500 company with annual sales of $15 billion worldwide.

Nutriox Technology is user and environmentally friendly. It will be a solution to odor problems in the entire food processing industry. It involves the use of a clear, non-hazardous liquid, of which the active ingredient is consumed in the process.

Idaho Supreme is a privately owned manufacturer of potato flake and other dehydrated potato food ingredients for North American and Asian markets.
