According to Andy Jensen of the Washington State Potato Commission, the EPA has dropped the monitoring requirement for the use of chlorine dioxide products in potato storages.

The amendment was issued Dec. 2 to the specific exemption for the use of the products. The EPA stated that an exemption for the requirement for this use and monitoring for chlorine dioxide and its breakdown on potatoes can be discontinued.

The products include Purogene, Purogene Professional and Anthium AGP to control late blight on stored potatoes.
